We have extensive, combined work experience and have been working on computers since the age of DOS. So many customers who take their computers to larger computer outlets sometimes get “lost in the shuffle” in a production type of environment. Internet City does not want to make our customers made to be felt that way. We pride ourselves on our ability to be honest with our customers as well as the ability to gain their trust to accomplish our goal of individual service to them.
Everyone employed at Internet City loves discovering new knowledge and understanding of computer technology as well as relaying that information onto our customers. We are constantly keeping up with that ever-changing technology not only as an effort to improve our service, but as an effort to pass along that information to our customers!
Our Story:
I come from a family of entrepreneurs. My grandfather owned a tool and die shop when he was a young man and started creating useful items that went to market, that are still being used today, including air flow and carburetor designs that Buick incorporated into their automobiles in the 60’s and 70’s. He secured many patients in his lifetime. I have been a business owner most of my adult life, starting with an auto collision business (me being 3rd generation auto body) which led me to purchasing Canton Collision, shortly after finishing my USN participation in the 1980’s where I worked in the emergency room and flew (Special Op’s) Search and Rescue in a helicopter as a paramedic. Then I went to school for IT in the 1990’s to further my education. This was hardly a field at this time but I had an insatiable curiosity for this “technology” which has led us to the device world as we know it today.
I first decided to open our computer repair business when I realized how hard it was to get honest, fair, legitimate customer service. We all hate to part with our computers and truly want them to be placed into dependable hands. Internet City realizes those concerns our customers are faced with who want to get their computer fixed in a timely matter, but, more importantly, correctly the first time! With that in mind, I started repairing computers in my home in 1997 and then went on to a store front in the early 2000’s.
I decided to locate in this community because we truly believe Westland is the place to be! I have lived in the Westland area most of my life. I truly have a lot of faith in this city and love the community. This was illustrated while being a member of the Garden City Jaycees and becoming their President in 1999. We were also involved with the Westland Jaycee's for many years. We are involved in, and attend as many community events as possible.
Internet City started out as a home business, which moved to a 400 SF building and grew rapidly to eventually occupy a 1500 SF strip mall location. Our customers frequently send us thank you cards, fruit baskets, cookies and other gratifications, or just stop by to visit.
